I thought the hardest part of this challenge would be the training and getting ready to cover the mileage in the time. The getting up each day to jump on the bike and ride for another few miles. the discomfort of the saddle and the lovely roads in Ireland.

I never thought the raising of money would be the thing that seems to be keeping me awake and giving me the difficulty. I am very old fashioned in that when I say I shall do something and give my word it means a lot to me and I have to achieve this.

So I have been trying many methods of trying to get the story out there and raise the profile of the site and my Facebook page and the Just giving page itself. So I was thinking what sort of things makes it more interesting and gets people looking and supporting. Why video and maybe the documenting of the hard work I am putting in to get ready for this amazing event.

Last week I was in Ireland meeting the main team who will guide us on the actual ride and a few of the other riders who are taking part. We all seem to have different reasons and personal motivation as to why we want to help raise vital funds for this amazing charity.

So I thought I have made a low-lights video and it captured some of the not so pleasant parts of cycling on the roads and the fact that not all car users feel or believe in the fact that cyclists should be on the road or the need to give them space. But It got me thinking that it was missing something.

So I thought the videos need a soundtrack. Then I thought I could have some of my albums I have playing in the background but what about the copyright issues. So to overcome that I have been very lucky to have had permission from a singer songwriter who is a great friend of a friend of mine. The amazing Ronan Mc Manus, I got in touch with Ronan and he was happy to help and has been very supportive of the work I am doing in trying to raise this money. So I thought it only fitting that I give him a special mention of his own.

So I want to say a massive thank you to Ronan and I hope that I have done your music proud and I look forward to making these videos and putting your music to them as a soundtrack.

So If you like the songs then please have a look on the Facebook page and get buying those albums.

Stay tuned for the first of these videos once I manage to edit it and apply the music.

For anyone who has not found where to support the fundraising then please go to the following link below. Thank you.
